Weight restrictions for passengers?
Dawn W asked:
I am going on holiday with a friend who is a large lady. I am booking the holiday. I asked her how much she weighed and she said 16 stone. I seriously doubt this. I dont think she will fit in a seat. Does anybody know what the weight restrictions for passengers are. Even the tour operator is no help.

well all i can say is when i weighed 2,378 pounds i went to the air port to take a plain but they did not think i could fit through the door. for hours they tried various oils and lubricants on my body to try and squeeze me through the door but to no avail. i had to ride in the cargo section which was snug but comfortable.
I believe it’s 300lbs
It’s not so much a weight restriction, but physical size. If the passenger can’t fit in one seat, they’ll have to buy a second seat.
There is no weight restriction because what is real big on one person may not be nearly as big on another of different height/musculature. It’s more to do with width. If it’s a packed flight and she’s 1/2 way into the seat next to her, they may well insist she pay for it.
If she can’t fit in a regular movie theater seat, or a booth at a restaurant, then she really should consider purchasing an extra seat, if for no other reason than her own comfort and that of those around her. Definitely look into being able to book her an aisle seat, which will allow her more elbow room at least on one side.
You can try booking yourself a window seat, her an aisle seat, and taking a chance the middle one doesn’t get booked. No one wants the middle seat, you may get lucky.
Depends how tall she is with 16 stone (abt 224 lbs.). If she’s 6′ or more, then she’ll have no problem. If she’s 5′ or less, then a 16 stone frame might not fit into one seat. Be a friend a put up the armrest between your seats to give her a little more room.
