You are able (if not traveling with) to track the pets at every point and call and check on them. They set the standard for all other airlines. Depending on where you're going will depend on the airline. I've heard good things about Alaska Air and Frontier. I've only ever used Delta and despite some drama at the ticket counter, my bunnies were handled well and went there and back in great shape. Be sure you are VERY clear on the requirements the airline has. Many will not fly animals in the summer due to heat concerns. I do fly rabbits as cargo sometimes.
