Traveling internationally with a 4mo. HELP?
Monkey’s Mom asked:
I am traveling with my 4 mo son next weekend from the US to Greece. I am looking for any advice and tips for the trip. In addition to the 9+ hour plane, we are going on a 4 hour boat as well.

Any advice or tips or tools of the trade you can offer would be GREAT! I plan to bring US powdered formula, even though I am still breastfeeding, just in case, as well as some bottles.
ANY advice for the plane would be awesome. Thanks gals.

Drink lots of water for yourself (people tend to get dehydrated on the plane and with breastfeeding that is the last thing that you want). Bring plenty of diapers plus some, don’t forget the wipes. Bring anything that he considers a security item and some toys that will distract him. Dress him in layers (sometimes it is hot, sometimes it is cold during the same flight). bring snacks for yourself, and him if he is eating solids yet. Try to have him nurse or **** on a pacifier during take off and landing if he is not asleep (if he is asleep, let him sleep).
For you nurse better and it can be lulled into daze by the time or be prepared to be really hard to play with too many toys with your sons diaper in there even when they give you and the best tips have for the best tips have changing tables these are.
Bottle or paci. at takeoff and landing to prevent ears popping and a screaming baby:)
Also, know ahead of time you will have to put EVERYTHING thru the security thing..stroller if it fits and all..and if you are using a baby carrier to walk thru airport..that will have to go thru too and you can’t wear it at takeoff and landing.
Check airline to see if they have changing table in bathroom..SW did, otherwise you may have to use lap. Bring toys, mum mums maybe…WATER, lots of water for yourself. You can gate check your stroller and car seat/base too..which can be quite convenient.
Umm…the paper booklets often in the back of the seat help to keep the baby entertained LOL..I had to do that..and I only took a 2 hr trip! By myself though, my hubby couldn’t come. GOOD LUCK.
