Make sure you didn’t inadvertently remove any wires while performing your maintenance.

Those 2 things may not be the problem. Your problem could be anywhere from a fuel system problem to a Ignition system problem. Get yourself a manual for your 89 civic. It’s incredibly easy to work on those. A manual can tell you how to test the ignition system properly and also the fuel system.

Changing the oil and cleaning the battery terminal should not have had any adverse affect on starting the engine.

Check to make sure you didn’t bump the fuel cut-off switch on the fire wall or accidentally disconnect a wire.

Please explain what you mean by your Civic not ‘catching’, and how cleaning a batery connection and changing oil could stop it from ‘catching’, whatever ‘catching’ is.

Dude, if you don’t like the answers you get, do not send vulgar e-mails to the answerer. That will only cause you problems.
